Online Counselling

Hi, my name is Jo (she/her). I am a cis gender lesbian and Queer woman based on North London. I currently work online so am accessible to people in different locations.

Why you might come to counselling

Sometimes life feels hard and presents us with challenges. Dealing with stress and worry can make us feel low, lost or unsure about our purpose in life. It can affect our sleep, our ability to concentrate and also how we feel about ourselves. This can lead to difficulties in our relationships with others and ourselves. You may be finding it hard to process past trauma or not know why you are experiencing the difficulties you are. Counselling is a way to get support to work through these challenges.

How I can help

If we choose to work together I will aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore whatever brings you to counselling. Sometimes this can be a specific issue you want to address – which could be a life change, bereavement, the impact of abuse, questions about identity, relationship challenges, repeating unwanted behaviours, or any number of other things.

Part of our work may be to look back at where behaviours originate from including early relationships. You may want the focus to be what is happening for you at the moment or maybe where you would like to be in the future. How we feel can also be impacted by the world we live in, the trauma we see in wider society and our own experience of discrimination and oppression so there will always be space to explore this in our work. I believe you are the expert on you and my role is to support you to be curious about your situation. I will be aiming for a relationship based on equality in which we explore together what is troubling you.
